Marvelous Baroque: Art and Architecture

The Baroque period (c. 1600–1730) was a dramatic, and emotional artistic movement emphasizing grandeur, movement, and intense emotion through opulent decoration represented in art, architecture and decor. Students in this course will learn how to quickly identify this style through its use of symbolism. Included are historical and geographical aspects related to the Baroque period and how they influence art and culture today.
