According to a recent study reported by Education Next, museums across the country report a steep drop in school tours. The American Association of School Administrators found that more than half of schools eliminated planned field trips during the 2010-2011 school year. The studies also indicated that children from high-poverty areas and rural areas benefited substantially from visiting museums!
